Homeopathy is an original method of treatment that is effective in treating most disorders of the body. This method is based on a pharmacological law called the "Law of Similars". This "law" was presented to the world in 1796 by Samuel Hahnemann, a German physician. He described it in this manner:

Any substance that produces specific toxic symptoms in a healthy person when given in its full strength form, will cure a sick person with those same symptoms when given in a very diluted, minute form." For example:

-A full strength dose of Ipeca will cause vomiting.
In a very diluted dose, it becomes a remedy to control nausea and vomiting.
-Coffee before bed will generally cause a sleepless night.
In an infinitesimal dose, it is used to treat insomnia.
-A large dose of sodium sulfate will characteristically provoke diarrhea.
An infinitesimal or homeopathic dose can cure that same type of diarrhea.

Opposites and Similars

In a case of insomnia, a drug that follows the "Law of Opposites" is used to produce an artificial sleep. These large dosages often can cause side effects and in some cases addiction if used too long.

In contrast, homeopathic medications follow the "Law of Similars". Substances which would rob a healthy person of sleep when given in large doses, will enable the patient to sleep naturally without side effects or addiction when administered in very minute quantities. Therefore, homeopathic medicine becomes an effective and efficient treatment that is void of any toxicity, due to its use of infinitesimal diluted substances.
